Program Abstract

Fireplace systems are commonly considered as an origin and cause hypothesis. This module helps fire investigators understand the layout and components of different types of fireplace systems so they can identify them in the field, perform common fireplace system investigative tasks, and recognize common fire causes involving fireplace systems. In addition, the fire investigator will learn safety procedures unique to evaluating fireplace systems. Finally, relevant codes and standards are introduced for further study.
